Welcome to the Boss Pedal Project! This is my attempt to collect and review every Boss compact pedal ever made. Be sure to subscribe so you don't miss a review! Episode 15: Boss DN-2 Dyna Drive I probably sound like a broken record at this point, but I really didn't expect much from the Boss DN-2. It's a later release Boss dirt pedal. It is supposed to react to your picking attack and clean up when you play lighter. It uses what Boss calls 'Dyna Amp Technology', which was first implemented in the Roland Cube 60. Well, it does clean up a bit, but it isn't as gimmicky as I thought. This is a very solid OD pedal to use in front of a dirty amp. As with most Boss pedals, I had to set the level up a bit (@ 1:00) when I was on the low input of the JCM 800. It sounded decent, but not great in front of the cleaner input. Where this pedal shined, was in front of the dirtier high input on the Marshall. It produced a nice high gain rock tone, that actually surprised me! You can usually score these pedals for dirt cheap if you look around. I think I snagged this for $30 new from a guy. -Cameron Johnson Music by Atma Weapon atmaweaponnc.bandcamp.com facebook.com/atmaweaponnc
