Welcome to the Boss Pedal Project! This is my attempt to collect and review every Boss compact pedal ever made. Every week, I'll be demoing a different Boss pedal. Be sure to subscribe so you don't miss a review! Episode 4: Boss OC-2 Octaver When it comes to octave pedals, the OC-2 is probably the most famous. The brownish box has been a staple on pedalboards for 30 plus years. The Octaver is the first incarnation of the OC-2 Octave pedal. The name was changed to Octave in 1984, but the internal circuit remained the same. You have to be careful you only play one note at a time, and that your frets don't buzz too much. This isn't a polyphonic pedal, and it is very sensitive to any extra sound and nuance, but not in a good way. It is recommended you use a compressor in front. I'm not particularly a huge fan of octave pedals myself, but I can certainly see the appeal. I much prefer my EH POG, but this guy is a classic. It is still used today by many many players. -Cameron Johnson Music by Atma Weapon atmaweaponnc.bandcamp.com facebook.com/atmaweaponnc
