To spice up my Boss pedal demos, I've decided to take on some vintage Ibanez pedals. For the sake of time and to keep things a little more fun for me, I won't be writing a long review in the description box like I do in the Boss reviews. We will keep things nice and brief. The Ibanez AD-80 is a great analog delay. It's quite similar in tone and layout to the more famous Boss DM-2. Both are classic, but I prefer the look of the Ibanez AD-80, Hey, it's pink! You have to dig it. There are two notable things to point out in reference to the Ibanez Analog Delay. The first, is that the pedal operates at 18 volts! Yeah! It runs on 2 9 volt batteries. I think that has to be a first for me. Also, the Repeat knob likes to self oscillate pretty early. At 12:00, I can hear the oscillations start to run away. For normal 'everyday' analog delay tones, I like to keep the Delay time at 3:00 or maxed, the Blend knob at 9:00, and the Repeat knob at 12:00 or below.
