Out of the three AUG variants, the A3 is probably the best at closer ranges. With that said, the A3 can still handle long ranges quite easily, its just a matter of controlling the significant amount of horizontal recoil it has while firing (The A3 setup I'm using creates a lot of horizontal recoil towards the left).
